about taking a test that can decide if she will be accepted by the college of her choice or any college.
(6)SAT stands for Scholastic Achievement Test, which has been used by college admission boards since
1926 to select applicants. (7) The SAT has been called a “controversial yardstick” used to measure and
predict success in college. (8) Most four-year colleges require that students take the SAT. (9)Colleges
compare students’ scores to decide who will be accepted, and there is a lot of competition at some colleges.
